Summer Quilts
Alright, I know it has been awhile since I have made a post, this is a tough time of year to be inside working on sewing projects. Weeds need to be pulled, garden veggies need to be planted and summer distractions pull you away. Luckily, I used the early spring time to get some quilt projects done and the fruits of those days are blooming now. Be looking for the Aug/Sept issue of Quilt Magazine on your newsstands, that pretty quilt on the cover - it is mine!
I used fabrics from my Dilly Day Collection to create this pinwheel pattern. You can make summer last forever with a sunny quilt like this. I really love a scrap quilt and this one is lots of fun.
In chipping away at my "to do" list, this was the year to recover the patio furniture. I decided to tear apart the original cushions and use the old fabric as templates to make new covers. I reused the plastic cording in the piping and the zippers on the cushions. The only thing new was all the outdoor fabric. I am very pleased with the results and since I love this patio set - it is so comfy, it now looks brand new with my snappy terra cotta cushions with string colored piping. It probably looks extra fresh to me because we just got the house repainted too and everything is looking pretty nice right now.
I hope you are able to complete some of your projects too, whether it is in the yard or in the sewing room. Have fun with your projects and have a great summer.
