We’re back for our 3rd annual Gifting Handmade Maker’s Showcase. This year the event will run from November 1st through the 17th and today, for our introduction post, we’re starting things off with our first of 4 fabulous giveaways—keep reading for full details!
If you’re a regular reader of this blog then you may remember the Gifting Handmade Showcases of the past two years. If you’re new to my blog then you’re in for a real treat! From November 2 - 17 a new gift idea project will be posted to my Instagram account @sharonhollanddesigns. I’m the host and will also blog a weekly recap post, here on the blog that’ll review the projects posted about on Instagram AND include a weekly giveaway prize that can only be entered into by leaving a comment on the giveaway blog post.
During the year, my talented group of pattern testers make sample quilts from my new quilt patterns using fabrics from any of the Art Gallery Fabrics designer collections of their choosing. I ask them to sew with AFG collections because I’m a fabric designer for AGF and because I feel it’s the most superior fabric on the market. They don’t need to sew exclusively with my collections but they are testing my patterns.
For the Gifting Handmade event we turn the tables a bit and the testers get to choose whatever project or patterns they want—many times it’s one of their own patterns. All projects are chosen with gift-giving in mind. The only “requirement” is that they use my fabrics in these gifting projects! We work months in advance and I send them the fabrics for their projects from my personal stash of my AGF prints. It’s so exciting to see what they create and many times mix between my current fabric lines.

Giveaway Sponsors
To keep the gift-giving theme going throughout the event I host weekly giveaways right here on the blog and you’ll get a chance to be a lucky winner of amazing sponsored prizes! To start off Day 1 of Gifting Handmade we’ll have our first giveaway opportunity to win a bundle of goodies any quilter would love.
Grace & Piece Co.
Most of this year’s giveaway prizes are handmade products made by an individual or by the company. This set of handmade Barn Quilt Grace & Piece Co. assorted set of 6 cards, vinyl sticker, and note pad are the perfect way to drop someone a line to tell them you’re thinking of them, organize your lists on a pretty note pad, and show your quilty-style with a beautiful sticker.
“Whether hand quilting together around a frame, gifting a handmade baby quilt, or gathering loved ones for a warm meal set on a quilted table topper, quilting creates connection. Grace & Piece Co. carries on that tradition with seasonal stationary, greeting cards, and gifts to help quilters connect with their loved ones and shine a little light on someone's day.”
-Jamey Strom, owner of Grace & Piece Co.
Seams Sew Me
These super cute and handy Jumbo Alphabet and Number Clips are the brainchild of Belle Brunner of Seams Sew Me. Belle is a truly delightful person I got to meet in person for the first time this spring. She’s a pattern writer, notion creator, and instructor. Learn more about all she does on her blog and on Instagram @seams_sew_me.
I personally love these Jumbo clips for holding my patchwork pieces and keeping things organized while I sew. Belle is giving one lucky winner both the alphabet and number clips in these adorable tins as part of this week’s giveaway bundle.
Sharon Holland Designs
A Quilter’s Gift Bundle wouldn’t be complete without fabric, right? I’m adding my contribution to this first giveaway with 8 fat quarters I’ve curated from several of my Art Gallery Fabric lines to create a special holiday-ish bundle just for you! The quilting cotton fabrics selected are from my Tumbleweed, Juniper, Shine On, Kindred, and Fanciful blender collections. I’m sure there’ll be Gifting Handmade project ideas that can be made from fat quarters and the lucky winner will be all set to sew with these pretties.
You can see all my AGF fabric collections, HERE and of course be sure to follow along on Instagram @sharonhollanddesigns.
I want to give a big thank you to our generous sponsors!
